I remember visiting Washington D.C. on an eight grade field trip. At the time I was to young to really appreciate how truly magnificent it is. Now that I am older I can’t help but marvel at the beauty, and the significance of the monuments, architecture, and galleries.
More than 500,000 people live in Washington, D.C. which is 68 square miles and located between Virginia and Maryland on the north bank of the Potomac River. An interesting bit of trivia, that I did not know until recently, is that George Washington never lived in the White House. John Adams, our second President, along with his wife Abigail, were the first residents there.
