I love New Mexico! It’s adequately called “The Land of Enchantment”. With a big blue sky backdropped behind terra cotta buildings, it’s a photographers delight. It’s easy to see what inspired Georgia O’Keeffe to paint the beautiful paintings she’s so famous for, and why she fell in love with Abiquiu.
One of the most interesting places to visit while in New Mexico is Taos Pueblo, which is approximately 1000 years old and contains a multi-storied residential complex of reddish-brown adobe dwelling divided into two parts by the Rio Pueblo creek. The pueblo is a National Historic Landmark, and as of 2006, about 150 Native Americans live there full-time.
