Although flowers, plants and other flora, don’t scurry about like animals do, I still find it challenging to take a great picture of them. There are so many great photographers out there making great images, I wonder how can I make mine stand out from all the rest?

My preferred technique is to crop as close as possible, and find an interesting point of view.  I typically use my 24-70mm attached to my extension tube which allows me to get close enough that I can see the tiniest of details.  In situations such as this, it’s very important to have good lighting, and use a tripod to ensure your focus is tack sharp.
